Found in the busy East Liberty business district, Tana Ethiopian Cuisine is an authentic Ethiopian eatery offering eat-in and take-out options. There are extensive vegan options as all items listed on the vegetarian menu are also vegan, from the Misir wot split lentils to the split pea Ye ater kik alicha, all made with herbs and spices imported directly from Ethiopia. Tana Ethiopian Cuisine serves lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks.
Eat-in diners are seated in a communal area with table service, and note that as the website states “… you will eat out of a common plate using your hands, and where no utensils are provided, except for… upon request.” It’s a fun and authentic experience!
There are also weekly Jazz sessions - check Facebook for the latest.
