Public Greens: Urban Kitchen with a Mission is a meld of many things - a farm-market inspired cafeteria, a microfarm and an organization supporting a local foundation. Public Greens is situated adjacent to the Monon Trail, Indianapolis’ city greenway.
The constantly rotating and refreshing menu offers many vegan delights, such as Quinoa Stuffed Acorn Squash with Fall Vegetables, Spiced Pumpkin Seeds and Kale Salad, or Vegan Butternut Squash Dahl with Red Lentils & Vegetables, Rice and Pita, and Vegan Country Fried Cauliflower Steak with Quinoa Salad & Creamy Garlic Sauce.
The food is a delight and the concept behind Public Greens is a wonderful one – all profits go to benefit The Patachou Foundation which is fighting to feed healthy meals to local children suffering from food insecurity.
Public Greens sometimes stays open later during the weekend if the weather’s good, so it’s worth contacting or checking the Facebook page to see if you’re in luck today.
