New Deal Café is a co-operatively stablished and run café found in the historic Roosevelt Center in the heart of Old Greenbelt. It offers much to the local community and to the visitor alike, from a light bite to an evening of food, music and entertainment. The menu offers fare specifically for vegans, although it does cater to omnivores too. The vegan options can be found throughout the menu and include casual plates like the Sesame Peanut Noodles or White Bean Caldo Verde and sandwiches such as the Naked or Buffalo Spiced Falafel pita.
The New Deal Café also hosts many arts and cultural events, as well as featuring live music six nights a week, and has been voted as one of the 35 best Folk Music Venues in the US. For details check the website.
Reservations are recommended after 6pm at weekends, and when popular bands are on!
