"Masala Box is an essential tool box at the core of all Indian cooking – a round stainless steel container within which are several small round containers that hold spices. It is to every Indian chef what a palette is to a painter. Traditionally it is referred to as a ‘dabba’ or Box."
Masala Box serves authentic Indian cuisine from its location Bell Boulevard and specializes in flavorful meals based around the Ayurvedic principles of well-being. Although not a vegetarian restaurant, Masala Box has an extensive Veggie Menu of which most of the options are vegan. Choose from traditional favorites like Vegetable Biryani and Aloo Gobi, or select something a little different such as Bundgobi Mutter (shredded cabbage and green peas) and Baigan Bhurta (baked eggplant). Malsala Box's signature dish also happens to be vegan: Punjabi Chole - chickpeas cooked in a traditional tomato, onion and tamarind reduction served with bhatura.
Indian cuisine is typically a great choice for vegans (as long as they use vegetable oil as opposed to ghee) and Masala Box is no exception. The perfect option if dining out with a large mixed group or with friends and family, with plenty of variety for vegans and vegetarians.
