Over the past 19 years, Mexican Radio has evolved from a ‘jaunty, candlelit shoebox’ on upper Mulberry Street in New York City to the recent acquisition of the Imperial Building at 325 State Street in downtown Schenectady. There is also a second Mexican Radio located over in Hudson.
An already popular Mexican restaurant, this place is brilliant for vegans! The menu is info-packed, with notes on most of the dishes indicating if they can be made vegan, and the vegan symbol is also used as a guide. With the exception of Suiza, all of Mexican Radio's sauces are vegan and their rice and beans are vegan-friendly. They offer a variety of meat and dairy substitutes, meaning that most of the omnivore and veggie dishes can be made plant-based. In both restaurant locations, there is also a dedicated vegetarian fryer.
Choose from appetizers like Mexican Spring Rolls, burritos and tacos with seitan, tofu, vegan cheese or soy crema, and house favorites like the vegan Radio Nachos.
Mexican cuisine is great for large groups and lends itself perfectly to celebrations due to the bright colors, fiesta atmosphere and famous beverages. Mexican Radio takes this a step further by being completely inclusive and providing options for all its customers. Be sure to visit soon and let us know what you think!
