Café Phipps

Located in the Welcome Center at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Phipps Café offers many vegan options, and more dishes which can be made vegan upon request, such as salads, sandwiches, snacks and soups. Café Phipps has garnered many accolades for its work to promote sustainable working whilst still providing outstanding food, hence being accredited as a 3-star Green Restaurant Certified® eatery and achieving the highest platinum status from the Pittsburgh Sustainable Restaurant Initiative, and being recommended by Food & Wine magazine on its list of the “Best Museum Restaurants in the U.S.”.

All food is sourced as locally as possible, with some even coming from the establishment’s own organically managed green rooftop Edible Garden, and is always organic when possible. Compostable containers and serviceware is supplied for takeout orders and drinks, and real serviceware – not disposable – is used throughout.
